Meet Dr Diane Levitt
Meet Dr. Diane Levitt
My interest in natural healing and wellness began to peak as a teenager, and was, in retrospect, an extension of the fascination with and extra studies in marine, animal, and human biology enjoyed during elementary and junior high school. By high school, I began to study about natural foods and diet, I gardened, and I even farmed as a young adult. Meditation became a part of my life and remains so. I explored and practiced different forms of Energy Medicine, and I later chose to become certified in Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy.
My personal quest to learn more brought all manner of books my way, and fortunately for me, one was by a chiropractor. I injured my low back from heavy lifting, and it just made sense to me to seek help from a chiropractor. Like so many others who have first experiences with chiropractic, I went for pain relief first and then grew to understand the profound effects chiropractic care can have on total health. Of course, my low back was helped, but also I was inspired to become a Chiropractic Physician. I personally also suffered a severe whiplash injury in the past, and my knowledge of care for whiplash goes beyond the academic to the personal for that as well.
I empathize with patients who have had injuries and accidents requiring surgery because it happened to me and those close to me. Healing takes time, but my experience has been that the chiropractic and natural healing care I provide has outstanding results for recovery. It is humbling and exciting.
Exercise has certainly always been a part of my life, an avid bicyclist from youth into adulthood, hours at the golf driving range when young, a fan of swimming, dance, gymnastics, horseback riding, hiking, yoga, aerobics, weight training... I remember joining one of the first Nautilus gyms and have been weight training for three decades now. Some years ago I became a student of wonderful Tai Chi, and I highly recommend Tai Chi and Qi Gong as meditative movement and as healing arts. Over the years, I have treated many athletes, both young and old, and appreciate their sports... and the mechanisms and care to improve performance and function, as well having treated the unfortunate injuries that can occur in the pursuit of excellence.
Health and wellness became personal in another more positive way with the birth of my lovely and amazing daughter in 1990. When she was nine, I became a home-school mom for six years, along with owning and working at Chiropractic Plus. I understand the challenges and labors of love raising a child brings, and I have a special interest in caring for women and mothers and their children. My daughter, a cum laude college graduate from a prestigious women's college at age 19 and a successful and luminous young woman, retains her respect for sustainable living, natural diet and natural healing approaches as she prepares for graduate school in her chosen profession.
I am honored to say that both as an intern before graduation as well as during my years in private practice, the care I've been fortunate to provide for all manner of conditions and pains has inspired others to change their career paths to also become Doctors of Chiropractic.
Other than the focus I am compelled to give patients, my clinic and my continuing education, I thoroughly enjoy dance, theater, and music performances, spending time at art galleries and museums, Tai Chi, meditation, reading, exercise and outside time (including relaxing on my screened porch and napping in my hammock!), good food, good friends, and an unending list of other interests!
Now it's your turn! I'd like to hear your story and make recommendations to help you personally with your health goals. Please accept my personal invitation for a Complimentary Consultation at Chiropractic Plus with either myself or Dr. Mike Mroczynski. We're here for you!
